Over 400 dilapidated houses in walled city area of Ahmedabad, Apprehension of major mishap in Monsoon

Barely a month period is there to the onset of monsoon, yet Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has not carried out the planned pre-monsoon operations. Every year in the walled city area of Ahmedabad, several incidents of collapse of dilapidated houses takes place during the monsoon. In such incidents many innocent people lose their lives. However, no concrete decision has been taken for such houses.

Amidst the situation, BJP councilor himself has confirmed that there are more than 400 dilapidated houses in the Walled city area. He has written a letter to the Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and expressed the inability of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in lack of power in this regard. He has demanded to work out a specific policy.

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation gets satisfied by only issuing notices to owners of such houses from time to time. But no specific planning is done regarding such houses.
Pankaj Bhatt, BJP Municipal Councilor of Khadia has written a letter to the Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and demanded to formulate a specific policy.
