PM Narendra Modi distributed about 71,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits in Government departments and organisations on Tuesday, via video conferencing at the fifth ‘Rozgar Mela’. Rozgar Mela was held virtually across 45 locations in the country. PM Modi said that the reformed recruitment system has “ended all possibilities of corruption and nepotism.”

PM Modi added,”Earlier it was difficult to apply for a government job, one had to stand in line for hours to get the form.Today the whole process from applying to results is online. Now no interview is required for Group C&D posts. This has ended the possibilities of corruption & nepotism.”
PM Modi said,”Every scheme of the Government of India, every policy is creating new employment opportunities for the youth. In the last 9 years, the Government of India has spent about Rs 34 lakh crore on capital expenditure.”
Talking about the development of infrastructure PM Modi said, “Before 2014, the country’s rural road network spanned less than 4 lakh kilometres, but now it has expanded to over 7.15 lakh kilometres. The country only had 74 airports before 2014. Today, this number has increased to about 150.”
PM Modi said, “A few days back, I met Walmart’s CEO and he said that his company will do an export of Rs 80,000 Cr in the next 3-4 years. It’s big news for youth who want to work in logistics and supply chain sector. Cisco CEO also told me that they are also targeting to export Made-in-India products worth Rs 8,000 crores…Next week I will meet CEOs of big companies and they all are excited to invest in India.”
Press Information Bureau said in a statement, ” The mela is envisaged as a catalyst in furthering employment generation and providing meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in national development.”
