Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a one-day visit to his home state Gujarat today. During the visit, PM Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated various development projects. Besides, PM Modi also participated in the All India Education Association convention. Addressing the National Convention, PM Modi said, “At the time when India is moving forward with the determination for development, the role of teachers increase further. Earlier, drop out rate in Gujarat used to be around 40% but currently it has been reduced to 3%. This has been possible only with the cooperation of the teachers of Gujarat.

Addressing the convention of the Primary Teachers Association held at Gift City, Gandhinagar, PM Modi said that currently the challenges of resources for teachers is being removed, but the curiosity of the students of current generation has become a challenge for the teachers. These students are full of confidence, they are fearless. Their curiosity challenges the teachers.
Besides, while giving advice to the students, PM Modi said that students can get data from Google, but the decision has to be taken on its own. Only a teacher can teach the student how to use their knowledge properly. Information can be obtained from technology but only the teacher can gude the right approach.
Emphasizing on the education of mother tongue, PM Modi said that it is unfortunate that after independence, parents started leaning towards educating children through English medium, ignoring Hindi as the language of education. It is a matter of great fortune that today the government is taking steps in the direction to ensure the education in the mother tongue.
