Voting is underway for all 224 assembly seats of Karnataka. According to the latest data released by the Election Commission, 52.03% voting has been registered till 3 pm in the Karnataka elections. The Election Commission has made strict security arrangements for the voting. This election has witnessed many veteran candidates in the election fray. Polling started at 7 and will continue till 6 pm. Total 5,31,33,054 voters of the state have the right to exercise for electing 224 members of the assembly.

Former Prime Minister of India and JDS chief HD Deve Gowda cast his vote in Holenarsipura. After voting, HD Deve Gowda said that it was a small village earlier, which has now become a developed town. Multifaceted development is taking place here. All facilities of health, education have been provided here, and the credit goes to local MLA H.D.Khanna.
A total of 2,615 candidates of various parties including Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, Janata Dal (Secular) are trying their luck in the election field. BJP has fielded its candidates on all 224 seats, while the Congress on 223 and the Janata Dal (Secular) and the Aam Aadmi Party have each fielded their candidates on 209 seats. There are a total of 11,71,558 youth voters in the state, while 5,71,281 are physically challenged and 12,15,920 are above 80 years of age.
