Due to continuous presence of unseasonal rain, we did not feel the scorching heat in April this year. But now as the sky remains clear, the Meteorology Department (MD) has predicted for scorching heat in coming days. Yesterday, Ahmedabad recorded 41.4 degrees temperature which, is likely to touch to 44 degree Celsius in coming days. Besides, Patan in North Gujarat also recorded 41.4 degrees, Surendranagar 41 degrees, Rajkot 40 degrees, Gandhinagar 40, Bhuj 39.9, Deesa 39.8, Vadodara 39.6, Junagadh 38.1, Bhavnagar 37.8 and Surat recorded 34.8 degrees temperature yesterday.

Currently dry heat is being experienced which may lead to increase the number of heat stroke cases. As the effect of unseasonal rain has been subsided, the summer has started to show its presence.
Excess heat is being experienced in the cities due to number of roads and buildings. The traffic movement has been affected due to the heat in the afternoon.
In view of the scorching heat to be felt, special sections for stroke patients have been set up in government hospitals and people are being advised to drink more water, wear the cloths that may cover the whole body.
Normally the temperature rises after the festival of Holi. But this year, the heat started to be felt during the cold of January-February. At the end of February, it was very hot. But as soon as March began, unseasonal rain started which continued throughout the month. Following its effect there was no significant rise recorded in temperature in March. But, currently with the beginning of May, scorching heat has started.
