The enthronement ceremony of King Charles III as the 40th monarch of Britain will be witnessed by guests from all the world including heads of states, foreign royals like Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco; King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan and King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain, among other dignitaries and politicians. At this historical moment for Britain, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and actor Sonam Kapoor are among the Indians set to be present at the Westminster Abbey.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry has been relegated to the third row at King Charles’ coronation, reports claimed as he is set to attend the historic event without his wife Meghan Markle.
The coronation service will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend and Right Honourable Justin Welby, along with faith leaders and representatives of the Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Buddhist and Jewish communities processing through the Westminster Abbey ahead of the service.
As Britain makes final preparations for the ceremony, the world’s attention turns to the royal family that has undergone many changes in the recent past- Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepping down as senior royals and the passing away of the country’s longest-reigning monarch Queen Elizabeth II.
Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation was held in June 1953 and was attended by over 8,000 guests although Charles’s “slim-down” coronation is expected to be shorter in length and have no more than 2,800 guests in the audience.
