Security forces have again foiled a terrorist plot in Jammu and Kashmir. Two terrorists have been shot dead in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday. A police official said that the encounter took place early morning in Baramulla district. A large quantity of weapons have been recovered from the slain terrorists. Security forces have taken charge and a search operation is being conducted in the area.

According to Kashmir Zone Police, two terrorists have been shot dead in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Vanigam Payeen Kriri area of Baramulla. Objectionable material, arms and ammunition including an AK-47 rifle, a pistol have been recovered from the terrorists.
Talking to media after successful operation, Baramulla SSP Amod Ashok said that they received an information that some Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists are hiding in Vanigam area of Kreeri. On receiving the information, the joint parties commenced a search operation in the area. During the operation, terrorists started firing on the parties from a house. Retaliating the firing, security forces shot dead 2 terrorists. One AK-47 rifle, one pistol has been recovered from the site. Investigation has been undertaken after filing FIR in the incident.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Kashmir, Vijay Kumar said,” The terrorists, identified as Shakir Majid Najar and Hanan Ahmad Seh from Shopian district, belonged to the proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba.”
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, security forces shot dead two terrorists in an encounter in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on inputs received earlier. The army and J&K Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) were on the lookout for infiltrators amid inclement weather in Machhil sector.
