Russia retaliates, attacks on railway station – supermarket in Kherson, 21 people killed

Russia retaliated yesterday in Kherson, Ukraine, according to Ukrainian media, the attack was carried out on the railway station and a supermarket in Kherson. It is being told that 21 people were killed while 48 people injured in the attack by Russia.There were reports of renewed attacks on Kyiv and other cities after 21 people died in a Russian strike on the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson on Wednesday. Yesterday a drone strike took place on the Kremlin. Russia claimed it a Ukraine attempted to hit President Vladimir Putin.

According to officials and media outlets report, anti-aircraft defences were at work in Kyiv in the early hours of Thursday morning. Local media reported hearing explosions in the southern city of Zaporizhzhia and the Black Sea port of Odesa. Air alerts also sounded in the southern and eastern regions of Ukraine including Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv and Kherson.

Earlier, Russia promised “retaliation” for what it said was an unsuccessful drone attack on the Kremlin and an attempt by Ukraine to assassinate Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Russia on Wednesday claimed that Ukraine attempted to hit Russian President Vladimir Putin using two Ukrainian drones. Moscow said Kyiv attempted a drone strike on the Kremlin with the aim of killing President Putin. But Putin wasn’t in Kremlin at the time of the drone attack, Moscow said in a statement.

The drones were disabled and crashed in the Kremlin without causing injuries or damage, the Kremlin said, adding Putin was unharmed. “We view these actions as a planned terrorist act and an attempt on the life of the president,” it said.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denied that his country had any role in the alleged drone attack: “We don’t attack Putin or Moscow. We fight on our territory. We’re defending our villages and cities.”
