Course for Maths – Science reduced in Std. 6 -10, but text books not to be changed: Education Minister

Before the beginning of new academic year in schools, confusion is prevailing among parents and students regarding the textbooks of mathematics and science due to the reduced courses for classes 6 to 10.

Vadodara Traders Consumers Co.Op. Society, distributing the text books to book sellers in Vadodara on behalf of the Gujarat State Board of School Text Book, made a representation to the Education Secretary and Education Minister on the issue.

Parshuram Pandya, Secretary of the Society said that it has been decided to keep the course of Gujarat Board text books as per NCERT textbooks. Subsequently, some courses in mathematics and science have been reduced and some courses in sociology have been increased for 6th to 10th grade.It will be implemented from the new academic year. Parents and students are confused on this issue and they demand new text books due to change in the course.
