Meanwhile, traffic police and the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation have taken an important decision to provide some relief to vehicle drivers. Accordingly, it has been decided to shut off the traffic signals in afternoon beginning from today. Besides, the duration of change of lights has been reduced from 25 seconds to 20 seconds for 58 signals of Ahmedabad. As a result, people will not have to wait at the traffic signal for a long duration.
The AMC and the traffic department have taken the decision to provide relief from the heat to vehicle drivers of Ahmedabad. Some traffic signals will remain closed from today, while the time limit for important traffic signals has been reduced in Ahmedabad. 127 traffic signals in Ahmedabad will remain closed from 12 noon to 4 pm from today. After 4 pm, the traffic signals will be operational as usual. Besides, the Municipal Corporation has also decided to keep the city parks open till 11 pm to provide relief to the people from the scorching heat.
Also the duration on 58 signals has been reduced from 25 seconds to 20 seconds from today. Due to this, people will not have to stand at the signal for a long time.
