Pakistan foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari is scheduled to visit Goa to attend Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit to be held in May. SCO foreign ministers meeting is scheduled from May 4 – 5. Pakistan foreign ministry announced it in a briefing on Thursday.

Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said,”Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will be leading the Pakistan delegation to the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) being held on May 4-5, 2023, in Goa, India.” He will visit India on an invitation extended by External Affairs Minister S. Jayshaknar. “Our participation in the meeting reflects Pakistan’s commitment to the SCO Charter and processes and the importance that Pakistan accords to the region in its foreign policy priorities,” Mumtaz said.
In January, 2023 Indian Government extended an invitation to Pakistan foreign minister Bhutto to participate in SCO.
SCO was formed in the year 2001. It is a political, economical and military organization whose mission is to maintain peace, security and stability in the region. This organization was initiated on the lines of NETO, an organization of western countries. India, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are its members.
