All 3 accused in the killing of Atiq Ahmed and his brother Khalid Azim Ashraf, in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, have been remanded to four-day police custody. On Wednesday, all accused were produced before Chief judicial Magistrate. Special Investigation Team, formed to probe the case demanded the remand of all three killers Lavlesh Tiwari, Sunny Singh and Arun Maurya.

During initial interrogation, it is reported, the killers of Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf said that they wanted to become mafia. Hence, they carried out this incident in a sensational manner. According to the shooters, they did not want to become a associate of mafia or small mafia. All three accused wanted to come in limelight. So why they planned and executed this killing in the presence of the media. Now the SIT will interrogate them in depth, which may lead to some important revelations.
They were earlier sent to 14-day judicial custody by the district court on April 16.During the remand, police will question the accused about the weapon used to kill Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf on April 15 night, where they got the weapon from and who gave it to them. The police will also seek to know the reason for the murder of the gangsters. All three accused will again be presented in court again on April 23.
