After slow down for a few days, India has again recorded more than 10,000 new covid-19 cases. The country recorded 10,542 new Covid-19 infections according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday. On Tuesday country witnessed a drop in the daily Covid-19 tally with 7,633 new cases and 11 deaths in the last 24 hours. While on Monday, the country saw a total of 9,111 cases and 10,093 infections were reported on Sunday. With 10,542 new Covid-19 cases, the active cases have crossed 63,000 mark and has reached to 63,562 cases.

The rising number of death toll is a big matter of concern amidst the increase in number of coronavirus cases. 38 deaths, which includes 11 reconciled by Kerala, have been logged in the last 24 hours in the country. The death toll has increased to 5,31,190 with 38 deaths. Whereas around 8,175 Coronavirus patients have been recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours taking the total number of recoveries to 4,42,50,649. The recovery rate now stands at 98.67 per cent.
Covid-19 cases hike in Gujarat: 304 new cases
Gujarat recorded 304 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours against 174 new cases recorded on Tuesday. While 370 patients have recovered from the infection. Ahmedabad, was at the top in the tally with 91 cases, whereas Surat 42, Baroda 34, Gandhinagar and Mehsana 19 each, Valsad 14, Rajkot 12, Bharuch and Sabar kantha 10 each, and Amreli-Patan each have reported 9 – 9 new cases of Covid – 19. Currently, there are total 2149 active cases in the state, out of which 6 patients are being treated on ventilator.
The daily case positivity rate increased from 3.62 per cent on Tuesday to 4.39 per cent today.
A total of 220.66 crore Covid vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far.
