Lok Sabha elections are very far in the terms of time. The opposition is making efforts to unite to challenge the Modi government. Mamta Banerjee has already advocated for the formation of a third front. The question has raised that who will lead the Third Front to be formed against BJP? Besides, which parties will involved in the third front. Meanwhile, the meeting of Congress leader KC Venugopal with former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray has heated up the political scenario.

AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal met Uddhav Thackeray at Matoshree. Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) leader Sanjay Raut, senior Congress leaders Balasaheb Thorat and Bhai Jagtap were also present in the meeting. Following the meeting, Venugopal said that we have only one point and that is to fight against the dictatorial Modi government. Shiv Sena, Congress and other parties have their own ideologies but the country is in great trouble at this time. The country has never experienced such a situation earlier. All opposition parties agree the point. We talked about it and we will fight unitedly.
Venugopal also invited Uddhav Thackeray to meet former Congress president Sonia Gandhi in Delhi.
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray in the joint press conference said that the country is facing a bigger issue which is nothing but a danger to democracy. “The equation and unity among opposition parties are against arrogance and self-importance. All the parties have their own ideology which is what democracy means. We want to save this and thus have come together,” Thackeray added when we maintain friendship, it is not a friendship but a relationship. We maintained a relationship with the BJP for 25-30 years, but they did not understand who is a friend and who is an opponent. Together we will fight the battle of democracy in the country.
