PM Narendra Modi flagged off Rajasthan’s first Vande Bharat Express train via video conferencing today. The inaugural train will run between Jaipur and Delhi Cantt. railway station. It will operate between Ajmer and Delhi Cantt with stops at Jaipur, Alwar and Gurgaon. Addressing the gathering, the PM Modi congratulated Rajasthan for getting its first Vande Bharat Train that will not only ease the travel between Jaipur Delhi but will also give a push to the tourism industry of Rajasthan as it will help the access to places of faith like Teerthraj Pushkar and Ajmer Sharif. PM Modi added that the government at the center is making Rajasthan a land of new opportunities. PM Modi said, earlier land acquisition was done under the false pretense of railway jobs. PM Modi expressed delight that the Vande Bharat Express has become synonymous with development, modernity, stability and ‘Atmanirbharta’.
PM Modi highlighted that the Vande Bharat Express is developed while keeping in mind manufacturing skills, safety, fast pace and beautiful design. PM Modi said that the Express train is the first semi automatic train to be developed in India and one of world’s first compact and efficient trains.
PM Modi praised Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for attending the launch event. PM Modi said, “I express my special gratitude to Ashok Gehlot ji as he is going through many political crises these days but despite that, he took out the time for development work and participated in a railway program. I welcome him.” The Prime Minister was referring to the ongoing political tussle between Gehlot and Congress leader Sachin Pilot.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said,” I welcome and express my gratitude to the PM Narendra Modi that now the Vande Bharat train, which has its own importance, started running in Rajasthan as well. I have some suggestions, considering the geographical location of Rajasthan, the network of railways should be maximum. I will tell the PM Modi and our Railway Minister Ashwini ji that maximum work should be done in Rajasthan, and attention should be paid to the matter.
