Andhra Pradesh Former CM Kiran Reddy has joined BJP. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahalad Joshi accorded him membership of BJP. Arun Singh, National General Secretary, BJP and other leaders were present at the program. At a press briefing after joining the BJP, Reddy said he had never imagined that he would leave the Congress. The 62-year-old Reddy said, “Congress does not understand the opinion of the people. They don’t interact with the people, they don’t take opinions of the leaders.”

Reddy added,” The Congress is getting damaged in all states and its high command does not interact with others or take their opinion.” Reddy added,” They think whatever they are doing is right and rest of the people of the country and others are wrong. I decided to leave the party on account of such ideology.”
Mr Reddy, who hails from the Rayalseema region, is expected to strengthen the BJP’s presence in the area where he has considerable influence.
Former Andhra Pradesh CM and Congress leader Kiran Reddy resigned from the Congress 12th March 2023 over differences with the party leadership. Reacting to Reddy’s resignation, Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP Manickam Tagore said the person who got everything, he wanted, destroyed Andhra Pradesh Congress. Now he has joined BJP. Reddy was Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh.
