Gandhinagar: The rising inflation has increased the troubles for the common man. After Amul, now Sumul Dairy also gave another shock to the people by hiking the price of milk. Sumul Dairy has raised the price of milk by Rs 2 per liter. The old price of Sumul milk per liter was Rs 64, now the new price will be Rs 66. New prices have been applicable from today. Referring the hike in the price of animal fodder, prices of milk have been increased.

Earlier on 1st April Amul hiked the rates of 500 ml milk pouch for Gold, Taja and Shakti brand milk. However, Amul did not change the price of 250 ml milk pouch and 500 ml butter milk pouch. The price for the bag of 6 liter butter milk was increased by Rs.6. Amul hiked Rs.2 per liter in various brand of milk.
Amul Federation raised the price of Amul milk by Rs 2 per liter due to hike in the price of cattle feed. The price for Amul Gold 500 ml was raised from Rs 31 to Rs 32. Similarly, Amul Shakti 500 ml price hiked from Rs. 28 to Rs. 29 rupees. Earlier a packet of Amul Buffalo milk was available for Rs.32, now it costs Rs.34. The price of Amul Slim Trim was raised by Rs. 1 to Rs. 23.
Earlier Amul Tea Special was sold at Rs. 29, now we have to pay Rs 30. For Amul Taja, instead of 25, we have to pay 26. Whereas the price for cow milk was increased from Rs.31 to Rs.32. New rates are in force from Saturday, April 1 across the state including Saurashtra, Kutch, North Gujarat, Kheda-Anand and Narmada.
On one side the prices of Petrol, Gas, and Vegetables are soaring, today’s price hike in milk will badly affect the budget of common, middle class and poor families. In a short span of nearly 6 months the federation hiked price for the second time. On the price hike, Federation said the rise in the cost of milk manufacturing, cattle feed, raw material and hike in fuel prices led to raise the price of milk.
