Ahmedabad: Eight people have been arrested for allegedly putting up “objectionable posters” against Prime Minister Narendra Modi at public places and government properties in Ahmedabad.

Posters in different areas of city
Police said that objectionable posters against Prime Minister Narendra Modi were put up in various areas of the city. The posters read, ‘Modi hatao- Desh bachao’. A case has been registered against all of them and further action has been taken in the matter. FIR has been registered in the mater against 8 people and further proceedings are in progress.
It may be mentioned here that such objectionable posters were put up at Vatva, Isanpur, Maninagar, Narol, Vadaj areas of Ahmedabad. Police has arrested the accused, all the posters were put up on Government properties.
Poster Campaign in 11 languages against BJP by AAP
The arrests have taken place a day after launching of Nationwide Poster Campaign against PM Narendra Modi by AAP. AAP has launched nationwide poster campaign in 11 languages in the country. Besides, English, Hindi and Urdu the posters have been released in Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, Udiya, Kannad, Malayalam, Telugu and Marathi language.
Poster war started in Delhi between BJP and AAP
Earlier, posters were put up against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. A poster near Mandi House with a photo of the CM of Delhi read, ‘Arvind Kejriwal hatao, Delhi Bachao”, besides calling AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal ‘dishonest, corrupt and dictator’. It is notable that the name of BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa has been written in it. Earlier, ‘objectionable’ posters against PM Modi were put up all over Delhi. As soon as the information about the posting of the poster was received, Delhi Police swung into action and arrested 6 people with registering more than 100 FIRs.
