Sudden change in weather of Ahmedabad, unseasonal rain continues in a few areas of the city

Atmosphere of Ahmedabad is cloudy from the morning today. On account of the sudden change in weather there are reports of unseasonal rain. People experience little bit cold since morning amid scorching heat. Areas of the city including Kalupur, Raipur, Paldi and Khadia have reported unseasonal rain. The effect of Western disturbance has been seen in Ahmedabad today. In addition, the Meteorological Department (MD) has predicted unseasonal rain during these days in Gujarat.

The Meteorological Department has indicated the possibility for unseasonal rain due to the activation of the cyclonic system. According to the forecast some parts of Saurashtra, Kutch, North Gujarat will have a few spells of rain with thunderstorms and strong winds on 30 and 31, March.

According to the forecast there will be a few spells of rain in Rajkot, Jamnagar, Dwarka and Kutch on 30th, while Porbandar, Amreli, Junagadh and Dwarka on 31st. The Meteorological Department has predicted unseasonal rain in Banas kantha, Saba kantha, Aravalli. However, the weather in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar will remain cloudy during these days.

Farmers are very much concerned following heavy unseasonal rain in Gujarat recently. As a result, there is a possibility of higher wheat prices in the market this year. Unseasonal rain has badly affected agricultural production, especially the wheat crop.
