Sports Desk: The star bowler for Team India and Mumbai Indians Jaspreet Bumrah may have to face more difficult period ahead due to his injury. Bumrah, currently out of the team, may not play Indian Premier League (IPL) starting from 31st March, 2023. Further, it seems very difficult for him to be placed in the team for World Test Championship. According to Cricbuzz report Bumrah could be out for a longer period than expected.

Sources in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) indicated that Bumrah, out of international action for almost five months, has not been feeling comfortable and he is staring at a potentially long hiatus. The target for the Indian team is to get him ready for the World Cup in October-November, if not necessarily for the Asia Cup, wherever it is held. Earlier there were news about his return in IPL as a bowler has to bowl only 4 overs in the match. He played his last match on 25th September, 2022.
Bumrah was selected in the team for a three T-20 match seriez against South Africa, but he could not play single match. In second T-20 match he was officially out of the seriez. He was out for ICC T-20 World cup 2022 as he was unfit.
Jaspreet Bumrah has played 30 test, 72 One Day and 60 T-20 matches for India. He took 128 wickets in tests, 121 in One day and 70 wickets in T-20 matches.He got the opportunity to play 5 One day matches and claimed 13 wicketswith average of 15.76 runs. Last year he took 22 wickets in 5 test and 4 wickets in 5 T-20 matches.
