Ahmedabad accounts for 81% of the total COVID-19 deaths in the state so far. Interestingly, of this 48% deaths were reported from the largest hospital in Asia- Civil Hospital. The state had reported 1,092 deaths due to COVID-19 by Tuesday evening of which 888 deaths were reported from Ahmedabad. Of the total deaths in Ahmedabad, 434 deaths were reported from Civil Hospital itself, which is 48% of the deaths.
Other than Civil Hospital, the SVP Hospital recorded 159 deaths while Sola Civil, the GCRI Hospital and IKDRC in Asarwa campus recorded 50, 58 and 36 deaths respectively. UN Mehta Hospital, which is in the same campus as Civil Hospital has recorded 8 deaths while the ESIC Hospital in Bapunagar has recorded 4. The rest 105 deaths have been recorded in other including private hospitals of the city.
On the bright side the state has recorded a rise in recovery rate. So far 11,894 people have recovered from the disease. In Ahmedabad, SVP leads in the number of patients successfully discharged.The hospital has discharged 1,571 patients so far followed by Civil Hospital which has discharged 1,428 people so far.
