5,000 People Came Out to Protest Against CAA with Jignesh Mevani in Gujarat


Gandhinagar: The first protest started in the Northeastern states by the central government regarding NRC and CAA which gradually reached from Delhi to other states of the country. But now opposition to this Act was seen in Modi and Shah’s motherland Gujarat. While the effect of shutdown was seen in many areas of Ahmedabad. And on the other hand more than five thousand people are on the way and had protest in opposed of this Act chaired by Independent MLA Jignesh Mevani in Vadgam.

Demonstrations are being held at many places in Gujarat for the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Jignesh Mevani, a Dalit leader close to the Congress led a group of protesters in Vadgam today. Mevani had tweeted that we have sought permission from the police to oppose CAA and NRC in Vadgam. If they did not give the permission then we have decided to move forward on the decision itself. Our supporters have blocked the Palanpur highway.

Independent MLA Mevani oppose CAA and NRC, while talking to Gujarat Exclusive he said that BJP is trying to hide its failure under the cover of CAA and NRC. Not only this, he attacked the center and said that people who believe in a particular religion are being targeted with this Act. Due to which the country is going towards collapse. That is why this Act is being opposed in different parts of the country. He said that till this Act is not withdrawn, our protest will continue.
