- 8,19,871 have been infected in the state so far; death toll reaches 9,991
Gandhinagar: Gujarat on Saturday reported 490 fresh cases of Covid-19, a marginal increase from 481 on Friday. With this, the case tally of the state now stands at 8,19,871. Six patients succumbed to the infection, taking the death toll till now to 9,991.
The state currently has 10,863 active cases of Covid-19, of which 272 are on ventilator while 10,591 are stable. A total of 7,99,012 patients have been discharged after recovery.
At 100, Surat tops list of daily cases in state
Surat district reported 100 new cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours ending Saturday evening. Of these 74 were in the city and 26 in rural parts. It was followed by Ahmedabad district with 64 cases, of which 62 were in the city and 2 in rural areas.
Vadodara reported 77 cases – 44 in city and 33 in rural parts. There were 38 cases in Rajkot district, of which 22 were in the city and 16 in rural parts.
Among other districts, Junagadh reported 24 cases, Jamnagar 20, Bharuch 19, Gir Somnath 18, Mehsana 12, Amreli 11, Devbhumi Dwarka and Kheda 10 each, Gandhinagar, Panchmahals and Porbandar 9 each, Kutch and Navsari 8 each, Bhavnagar 7, Anand and Sabarkantha 4 each, Mahisagar and Morbi 3 each, Dahod, Patan, Surendranagar and Tapi 2 each and Aravalli 1.
Botad, Chhota Udepur, Dangs and Narmada did not report a single new case of infection in 24 hours.
Of the six deaths, 2 were in Ahmedabad and one each in Aravalli, Jamnagar, Bharuch and Junagadh.
A total of 1,278 persons recovered from Covid-19 on Saturday, according to the state health department. Thus the recovery rate was 97.46 per cent
2.94 lakh vaccinated on Saturday
A total of 2,94,583 persons were vaccinated against Covid-19 in the state on Saturday. So far, a total of 1,54,86,963 persons have received the first dose of the vaccine.
