Gujarat on Monday recorded 477 new COVID-19 cases and 31 new deaths due to the disease in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of cases in the state now stands at 20,574, while the fatalities due to the disease is 1,280. The state has been recording over 300 cases for more than a month now since the pandemic began.
Of the total deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, 24 deaths were reported from Ahmedabad followed by two in Surat and one each in Sabarkantha, Panchmahals and Rajkot. Gandhinagar also reported two deaths due to the disease.
Ahmedabad continued to register the highest number of per day cases in the state. On Monday, it recorded 346 such cases, followed by Surat and Vadodara that recorded 48 and 35 cases respectively. State capital Gandhinagar recorded 4 new cases.
The total number of cases in Ahmedabad now stands at 14,631, while the death toll is 1,039. The number of active cases in the state is 5,330. Surat and Vadodara come second and third in number of cases and death. The districts recorded 2,146 and 1,328 cases respectively so far since the pandemic began. Surat also saw 82 deaths while it was 43 for Vadodara. Gandhinagar has 424 cases and 18 deaths so far.
