Gujarat on Tuesday recorded 470 new COVID-19 cases and 33 new deaths due to the disease in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of cases in the state now stands at 21,044, while the fatalities due to the disease is 1313. The state has been recording over 300 cases for more than a month.
Of the total deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, 27 deaths were reported from Ahmedabad followed by two in Surat and one each in Aravali, Mehsana, Amreli and Panchmahals. Gandhinagar reported no deaths due to the disease.
Ahmedabad continued to register the highest number of per day cases in the state. On Tuesday, it recorded 331 such cases, followed by Surat and Vadodara that recorded 62 and 32 cases respectively. State capital Gandhinagar recorded 8 new cases.
The total number of cases in Ahmedabad now stand at 14,962, while the death toll is 1,066. The number of active cases in the state is 5,385. Surat and Vadodara come second and third in number of cases and death. The districts recorded 2,208 and 1,360 cases respectively so far since the pandemic began. Surat also saw 84 deaths while it was 43 for Vadodara. Gandhinagar has 432 cases and 18 deaths so far.
