Gujarat has reported 455 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Sunday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally past 8.20 lakh.
9,997 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat
Unfortunately, six deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 9,997. While two deaths were reported from Ahmedabad, Surat also reported one death. One death has been reported each from Vadodara, Devbhoomi Dwarka and Sabarkantha.
55 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 96 in Surat
Of the 455 fresh cases reported on Sunday, 55 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 96 cases have been reported from Surat, 72 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and eight cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.
This apart, Rajkot has reported 46 cases, Bhavnagar has reported one case, Mehsana seven cases, and Jamnagar 13 cases.
Meanwhile, Junagarh has also reported 34 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported eight fresh cases. Dahod has reported no case, Amreli nine cases and Kheda five cases.
Similarly, Bharuch has reported 11 cases, Valsad has reported eight cases, Anand four cases, and Patan reported three cases.
With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 2.37 lakh The total tally has reached 1.42 lakh in Surat, 77,965 in Vadodara, and 20,413 in Gandhinagar.
7.96 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far
According to the health department, there are over 10,249 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 253 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 8 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 1,063 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
