Gujarat on Saturday recorded 412 new COVID-19 cases and 27 new deaths due to the disease in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of cases in the state now stands at 16,356, while the fatalities due to the disease is 1,007.
Of the total deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, 24 deaths were reported from Ahmedabad followed by one each in Mehsana and Banaskantha.
Gandhinagar also reported one death due to the disease.
Ahmedabad continued to register the highest number of per day cases in the state. On Saturday, it recorded 284 such cases, followed by Surat and Vadodara that recorded 55 and 28 cases respectively. State capital Gandhinagar recorded 12 new cases.
The total number of cases in Ahmedabad now stand at 11,881 while the death toll is 822. The number of active cases in the state is 6,119. Surat and Vadodara come second and third in number of cases and death. The districts recorded 1,565 and 1,009 cases respectively so far since the pandemic began. Surat also saw 67 deaths while it was 39 for Vadodara. Gandhinagar has 261 cases and 14 deaths so far.
