Around 41 per cent of all Shramik Express trains operated nationally are from Gujarat and it is the only state in the country that has witnessed the departure of these special trains in three-digits. This was informed by the Gujarat government on Wednesday.
Secretary to chief minister Ashwani Kumar said 37 more such trains will be leaving Gujarat on Wednesday. It includes 27 trains for Uttar Pradesh, five for Bihar, three for Odisha, and one each for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
While 10 trains are going to depart from Ahmedabad, 12 trains will depart from Surat. Four trains will depart from Rajkot and three trains will depart from Vadodara.
A total of 262 trains have left the state with 3.15 lakh labourers so far. By the end of Wednesday, the total figure is likely to touch 3.45 lakh.
