3 held for forcing kidnapped Bangladeshi teen into spa prostitution

The Surat police have arrested three people and rescued a Bangladeshi teen and another woman from prostitution. The girls were forced to work in a spa in Surat that was a front for a prostitution service.

The Crime Branch had been tipped off about the presence of a girl in Surat who was kidnapped from Bangladesh. The Anti Human Trafficking Unit’s (AHTU) missing cell and the Crime Branch formed various teams to took for the girl.

Karansinh and Shailesh Dubey, two cops got a tip-off that a woman fitting the description of the kidnapped girl was found at a spa near Althana area in Surat.

The tip-off suggested that the girl was in shop no 307 of Bhimrad Canal in the area. The shop operated as a spa. Cops raided the unit and found two men and two women.

One of the girls gave her identification and the name and address matched the description of the missing girl from Bangladesh.

Another girl who was found working at the spa is a 20-year-old from Punjab.

How they worked

Police arrested the owner of the spa Ankit Kantheria, and his friends Vijay Paghra and Vishal Vankheda. The trio did not have the permission to run the spa.

The girls told the police that customers would visit the spa under the guise of getting spa services and the two were forced to offer them sex there. The two were not allowed to go outside the spa.

The cops also recovered some other objectionable material from Ankit. He also allegedly told the cops that he charged Rs1,000 to Rs2,5000 per customer for the sex services.

He told cops that the women were forced to work on a commission for an agent. The Bangladeshi girl told the cops that one Mohsin who lived in her village sold her to one Milan in Bangalore who in turn sold her to one Nitu in Mumbai.

Nitu then sold her to Shabbir in Surat. The cops are on the lookout for Nitu, Milan, Mohsin and Shabbir.
