New Delhi: The country recorded 2,82,970 fresh cases of Covid-19 in last 24 hours, according to the health ministry on Wednesday morning. As many as 441 patients succumbed to the infection during this period.
The daily positivity rate is 15.13 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate is 15.53 per cent.
The Omicron tally of India rose to 8,961, an increase of 0.79 per cent from the previous day’s tally.
Recovery rate at 93.88%; active caseload at 18.31 lakh
Over 1.88 lakh patients recovered from Covid-19 in last 24 hours. The overall recovery has reached 3.55 crore, which is 93.88 per cent of the cases recorded till now.
The active caseload of Covid-19 in Gujarat 18.31 lakh, accounting for 4.83 per cent of the overall case tally.
18.69 lakh tests conducted in 24 hours
Over 18.69 lakh samples were tested for Covid in the country on Tuesday. So far, more than 70.74 crore samples have been tested.
The Centre has directed states and Union Territories to increase Covid testing immediately and in a strategic matter to curb spread of infection.
76.35 lakh vaccinated in a day
Over 76.35 lakh individuals were vaccinated against Covid-19 on Tuesday. So far, more than 1.58 billion (158.88 crore) doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive.
