A missing child who disappeared from her home after being scolded by her mother was finally found after 250 policemen came together to trace her.
A case of a missing 7-year-old child was reported in Pandesara on Wednesday. The complaint said the child had gone missing from her home after being scolded by her mother over something.
Family tried to locate her
The family had initially tried to look for the missing child on their own but approached the police after their efforts did not yield any results. In all, 250 police officials including top officials got involved in the search for the child.
After several hours of search, the child was spotted at the Parvat Patiya area in Surat.
Investigations revealed that the seven-year-old lived with her mother. On the day she went missing, her mother scolded her for not washing the utensils. The child was so hurt over the incident that she left her home.
Police said the CCTV cameras installed in various societies helped the police trace the child. The CCTV cameras at Piyush Point Society and Patrkaar Colony helped the police decide the route the child must have taken after she left home.
The other nearby area CCTVs also helped the cops track the child to Vesu area. from where she took a bus to Parvat Patiya. The child was finally found roaming there.
Special drive to trace missing children
Earlier the Gujarat police had in the August begun a special drive to trace missing children. In the drive it managed to close 533 cases of missing children. The highest number of missing children were traced from Surat (88) followed by 45 in Banaskantha and 42 in Dahod.
