- Ahmedabad, S Gujarat together account for 22 of 24 new cases
Gandhinagar: Gujarat reported 24 new cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours ending Saturday evening. This is one lower than Friday’s tally of 25.
However, majority of the cases, 13, are concentrated in South Gujarat. Valsad reported 5 cases, Surat city 4 and Surat rural and Navsari 2 each. City wise, the maximum cases, 9, were reported from Ahmedabad city.
Junagadh and Kheda saw 1 case each.
The active caseload of Covid-19 in the state reached 168. Of these, 5 are on ventilator, while 163 are stable.
The death toll stands at 10,087.
21 patients recover
The recovery rate of Covid-19 in the state is 98.76 per cent. Twenty-one patients recovered from the infection. So far, over 8.16 lakh patients have recovered from the infection in Gujarat.
3.01 lakh vaccinated in 24 hours
A total of 3,01,026 persons got the vaccine on Saturday. Of these, a total of 72,028 persons got the first dose, while the remaining were given the second dose of the vaccine.
So far, over 6.86 crore doses have been administered across the country.
