2 dead as Mercedes rams into bike in accident on Chiloda-Himmatnagar highway

Two people died after a Mercedes car hit a bike and a handcart on the Chiloda – Himmatnagar highway in an accident. Police said Jugagi Parmar and Kalyan Solanki, both residents of Ranchodpura village in Dahegam taluka were on their way home on Monday at 9 pm.

A Mercedes car without a number plate suddenly hit a hand cart near Giyoda Ambaji temple and then veered to hit a bike. The car crushed the bike into the divider. The impact killed Jugagi Parmar immediately while Kalyan Solanki later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

Primary reports have said that as the car hit the hand cart the airbags were activated which prevented the driver from seeing anything. Thus the car ended up hitting the bike too.

The driver identified as one Jinesh Todiya, 28, told the cops that he had forgotten his mobile phone in Udaipur and was going to get it. Locals, however, said Jinesh was accompanied by a woman and the two had stopped at a local place to have food where they fought.

The woman left Jinesh and walked some distance and Jinesh chased her in the car and that is when the accident happened.
