14 Killed, 31 Injured in Bus-Truck Collision in UP’s Firozabad


In a tragic accident a double-decker private bus rammed into a truck on Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Firozabad, UP. Atleast 14 people were sustain dead and 31 injured have been sent to Saifai Medical College Hospital. The incident took place around 10 pm on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway near the border of Firozabad Etawah.

The accident occurred when a double-decker bus going from Delhi to Motihari got into a standing truck due to puncture. In this accident, the driver who was changing the wheel of the truck also died. The bus driver Omkar is admitted in ICU. Twelve of the 14 passengers who died have been identified. According to SSP Sachindra Patel, “There were 40-45 passengers on the bus. There are many casualties and several people got injured. Around 10-14 casualties may be there.”

According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the bus was intoxicated and was driving the bus at a high speed. Passengers in the bus had also complained about it. On the other hand, DM and SSP who reached the spot said that the bus driver’s mistake is seen. SSP Sachindra Patel said that a conversation with the passengers who were safe on the spot showed that the speed of the bus was more than the limit, due to which the driver could not control by suddenly seeing the truck parked in front.
