12,820 COVID cases, 140 deaths reported in Gujarat in a day

Gujarat has reported 12,820 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Monday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally past 6.07 lakh.

7,648 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat

Unfortunately, 140 deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 7,648. While 26 deaths were reported from Ahmedabad, Surat reported 13 deaths. Fourteen deaths have been reported from Vadodara, three deaths have been reported from Kutch and four deaths from Surendranagar. Gandhinagar reported two deaths, Jamnagar reported 14 deaths and Rajkot reported 16 deaths. Junagarh reported nine deaths. Amreli reported four deaths.

4,671 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 1,656 in Surat

Of the 12,820 fresh cases reported on Sunday, 4,671 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 1,656 cases have been reported from Surat, 936 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and 317 cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.

This apart, Rajkot has reported 524 cases, Bhavnagar has reported 571 cases, Mehsana 493 cases, and Jamnagar 712 cases.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 280 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported 108 fresh cases. Dahod has reported 159 cases, Amreli 99 cases and Kheda 159 cases.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported 101 cases, Valsad has reported 125 cases, Anand 127 cases, and Patan reported 131 cases.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 1,80,723. The total tally has reached 1,20,752 in Surat, 53,660 in Vadodara, and 15,581 in Gandhinagar.

4.52 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are over 1.47 lakh active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 747 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 4.52 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 11,999 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
