Over 11,084 COVID cases, 121 deaths reported in Gujarat in a day

Gujarat has reported 11,084 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Sunday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally past 6.81 lakh.

8,394 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat

Unfortunately, 121 deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 8,394. While 19 deaths were reported from Ahmedabad, Surat reported 12 deaths. Twelve deaths have been reported from Vadodara, four deaths have been reported from Kutch and one death from Surendranagar. Gandhinagar reported one death, Jamnagar reported 14 deaths and Rajkot reported 13 deaths. Junagarh reported eleven deaths. Amreli reported one death.

2,955 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 1,113 in Surat

Of the 11,084 fresh cases reported on Sunday, 2,955 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 1,113 cases have been reported from Surat, 1,161 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and 270 cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.

This apart, Rajkot has reported 746 cases, Bhavnagar has reported 375 cases, Mehsana 483 cases, and Jamnagar 586 cases.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 484 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported 246 fresh cases. Dahod has reported 184 cases, Amreli 141 cases and Kheda 161 cases.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported 248 cases, Valsad has reported 98 cases, Anand 189 cases, and Patan reported 142 cases.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 2.03 lakh The total tally has reached 1.28 lakh in Surat, 60,066 in Vadodara, and 17,338 in Gandhinagar.

5.33 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are over 1.39 lakh active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 786 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 5.33 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 14,770 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
