Over 10,000 people died due to COVID-19 in Gujarat


Gujarat has reported 405 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Monday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally past 8.20 lakh.

10,003 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat

Unfortunately, six deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 10,003. While two deaths were reported from Ahmedabad, Surat also reported two deaths. One death has been reported each from Rajkot and Bharuch.

47 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 78 in Surat

Of the 405 fresh cases reported on Monday, 47 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 78 cases have been reported from Surat, 61 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and thirteen cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.

This apart, 32 cases were reported from Rajkot, Bhavnagar reported four cases, Mehsana reported no case, and 11 cases were reported from Jamnagar.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has also reported 30 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported seven fresh cases. Dahod has reported no cases, Amreli 12 cases, and Kheda eight cases.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported nine cases, Valsad has reported eight cases, Anand six cases, and Patan reported no case.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 2.37 lakh The total tally has reached 1.43 lakh in Surat, 78,026 in Vadodara, and 20,426 in Gandhinagar.

8.01 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are over 9,542 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 223 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 8.01 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 1,106 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
